Kundalini Rising: Up, Up and Away!

Just recently on a Wednesday night I went in to teach my 5:45pm Kundalini class.  Later that night and the next morning, I received two incredible emails from some students who had amazing experiences.

Kundalini is the yoga of awakening.  The yoga of miracles, some say. I've been immersed in hatha yoga for more than 17 years and I must say that when I was led by spirit to Kundalini, I couldn't believe how true this statement proved to be.

"Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a scientific technology for happiness. It extends the brain to imagine Infinity in its totality; then it is a gradual process to work for that experience. Every movement is scientifically originated, organized and projected. This is a discipline in which there is nothing but success.

When practicing Kundalini Yoga, your inner power is awakened to unite with the Universal Life Force, empowering you with awareness beyond the ordinary. This awakened state gives you the capacity to expand your perspective and experience each day with increasing inspiration and joy." Harijiwan

My experiences in this system have been powerful and rapid.  It's an energy transportation system designed to help you have a bigger experience of your Self.

What does this mean?

It means to connect you to your Truth.  Your Sat Nam.  Sat Nam means your Truth, your True Identity.

You literally uplink to the cosmic current.  Through the technologies of this method of yoga you raise your vibratory field to that which is the unified field of energy that we are all a part of.  This allows you to experience your "higher self" or your soul.  Your connection to something MUCH, MUCH bigger.

The teacher, by preparing herself through a regular daily sadhana, becomes the clearest channel for transmitting teachings to students.  It's through their practices with mantras, pranayams, yoga sets and meditations that teachers create the purest delivery possible.

The two most powerful technologies in KY are White Tantric Yoga and the Gong. White Tantric is an all-day meditation course broken down into many meditations. The gong is an amplification device to help clear and heal faster.

We use mantras, meditations, poses and the gong to clear the subconscious and then project the thoughts you want to move forward. Kundalini is literally a transportation system to move you in the right direction!  It gives you the power to direct consciousness.

These "technologies" give you the skills needed to navigate this new aquarian energy field space.  The whole purpose of this practice is to create more energy to improve the quality of your life.

It's been and continues to be a practice that deeply opens my heart space to know its supreme ecstasy: Wahe Guru!

  • Translation: Wahe is a statement of awe and ecstasy. Guru is the one who brings us from darkness to light. Wahe Guru is an expression of complete, ecstatic awe of the Divine.

Here's what one student wrote to me in an email after class:

"It came to me during last night's gong session. The meditation and visual pulsations were really, really strong and the message stated:  'your prayers' were heard.  Your Guides (Angels) are hard at work communicating with your 'Loved Ones - Guides.' They're sending fair and much-needed messages to each of them. It must be 'Spiritual-Teamwork' at it finest!  :)   My Guides haven't let me down yet!  Trusting, Believing, Feeling Free and Fearless in 2013 :))"

Here's another incredible email from a student:

"I had a interesting experience tonight at Kundalini. At the end of the gong, there was this intense glowing whitish blue brilliant light in front of me and kneeling in this light was a body dressed in something light blue with arms extended out to me. I was laying down, but it was like I was seeing this.  And it brought joy and tears and sadness. So now my body is vibrating with energy and I'm so emotional and my head feels like it has a brain freeze. What should I do? What am I experiencing?"

When the kundalini awakens, it takes a path within us of clearing and healing all that needs to be shifted.  We will feel these different stages as the students described above.  Sometimes we can be in supreme bliss and other times when the kundalini is doing some clearing, we can feel big energy moving through us or a temporary heaviness or sadness. Celebrate - it's working, either way!

It is a profound, powerful energy that we all have access to and once we awaken it, we have a beautiful creative life force like none other supporting us on this human realm.

Sometimes it awakens fast in a person or it can be a slow rising occurrence.  We start to see life in a very different way; that we're all connected.  We see the "bigger picture" of what's really going on instead of viewing things from our old operating system, the ego.  The soul is starting to drive the car, so to speak. Who better to be at the wheel?

The best way to understand Kundalini Yoga is to have an experience.  It's a beautiful, light-filled, devotional practice.  Let go of all expectations based on your past yoga experiences and give way to your highest potential. It's waiting for you!
